Early enriched environment to prevent transgenerational effects of prenatal stress in Alzheimer’s Disease
Granting agency: Airalzh, Associazione Italiana Ricerca Alzheimer.
The project aims to explore the effects of enriched environment and prenatal stress, as well as their combination in the 3xTg mouse model of AD.
Brain circuits and neurotransmitter malfunction in Down Syndrome: a pilot study to explore the therapeutic potential of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS)
Granting agency: Jerome Lejeune Foundation.
The project aims to explore the effects of the neuromodulatory technique tDCS in two transgenic mouse models of Down syndrome.
The brain anti-reward centre in autism spectrum disorder: is the lateral habenula a novel therapeutic target?
Granting agency: PRIN, Italian Ministry of Research.
The project aims to explore the role of the LHb-VTA circuit in a model of autism.
The project is in collaboration with Dr. Laura Baroncelli from CNR of Pisa.
Study on the synergy between heavy metal exposure and hereditary retinal degeneration in a murine model
The project aims to determine if and through which mechanisms Pb²⁺ accumulation associated with environmental pollution may impact hereditary retinal degeneration in a murine model that simulates cone-rod dystrophy in humans. The study includes an assessment of the effects of Pb²⁺ accumulation on both behavior and visual capability.
The project is in collaboration with Prof. Daniele Dell'Orco from the University of Verona.
